Around the time of the release of the NES Classic Edition, Nintendo had a lot of issues with production. They simply couldn’t make enough NES Classic Edition consoles to meet demand. Many fans couldn’t get their hands on one until after Christmas, or when Nintendo re-produced the system the year after, when they would be in stock again.
Now, two years after the NES Classic’s original release, Nintendo has decided to stop production on both the NES Classic and the SNES Classic console in North America.
Undoubtedly, there will be a mad Christmas scramble for these consoles once again as they reach the end of their short production life. Nintendo has not yet announced whether this will effect the rest of the world but now that the console has been readily available for the past couple of years, it may be time to move on to better things. Perhaps an N64 Classic now?
If you live in North America and want to get your hands on either the NES or SNES Classic, then now is the time before they become a rarity.
