Atlus’ Persona 5 shattered sales records, according to results sent out by the NPD Group.
According to the NPD Group’s results, Persona 5 had it’s strongest debut month in franchise history, selling more than five times the amount of software than it’s previous record-holder, Persona 4. It doesn’t appear that the actual sales numbers are available at the time of this writing, so we have to take the NPD Group’s word on the result.
The first quarter of 2017 has seen great growth in terms of Sales numbers, with the Nintendo Switch highlighting most of the charts. Both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Nintendo Switch hardware led for sales in their own categories, which can attribute to the success of the Nintendo Switch’s library of games including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and 1-2-Switch.
