Sony’s take on retro gaming comes forth in a very predictable way – The Playstation Classic.
That’s right. Similarly to Nintendo’s NES Classic and SNES Classic consoles, Sony is releasing the Playstation Classic in time for the holidays. The console is about 45% smaller than it’s original counterpart, with the system redesigned to fit it’s smaller form factor. Also included are two replica Playstation controllers, which appear to connect to the system via USB.
The Playstation Classic will include twenty games, including Square Enix’s popular Final Fantasy VII, originally released for the Playstation in 1997. Other games such as Ridge Racer Type 4, Wild Arms, Jumping Flash!, Tekken 3, have been announced, with more details arriving in the coming weeks.
The miniature console retails for $129.99 ($99.99 USD) when it releases in December.
The Playstation Classic releases on December 3rd, 2018.
