A new age of Quake has begun as it celebrates its 25th Anniversary! During the QuakeCon 2021 live stream, the original id Software 1996 masterpiece Quake was confirmed to be returning! Not only is it being brought to modern consoles for the first time, but it also contains new content and features!
You can now play the original dark fantasy FPS game’s entire authentic campaign with enhanced visuals! It can be played up to 4K with widescreen resolution support, enhanced models, dynamic and colored lighting, and more. In addition, the full original soundtrack composed by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) has returned!
The Quakening
Quake‘s rerelease also includes the original expansion packs: “The Scourge of Armagon” and “Dissolution of Eternity.” In addition, there will also be two expansions by MachineGames, “Dimension of the Past” and the BRAND NEW “Dimension of the Machine!” You will also be able to download mods as well!
To sweeten the deal, Quake will include online multiplayer alongside local multiplayer and CO-OP! Yes, that means the campaign and expansions can be played with up to 4-players online or with split-screen. In addition, Multiplayer can also be played with a 4-player split-screen, with up to 8-player matches online!
That’s not all! With the classic PC expanding to consoles, cross-play is also part of the experience! So you and your friends on a different platform can experience the Lovecraftian masterpiece together, in both campaign and multiplayer! Of course, you can also play the game anywhere with xCloud, available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.
In addition to Quake‘s rerelease, the sequels Quake II and Quake III: Arena have also been re-released for PC GamePass! With the three additions, there are now 30+ Bethesda games on the subscription service!
