Ubisoft has announced the next expansion for Rainbow Six Siege titled “Operation Skull Rain.”
This expansion will introduce two new playable operators, a new map, and top-requested updates for Rainbow Six Siege. The two new operators, Caveira and Capitão, hail from the Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (BOPE for short) who are an organized special units group located in Brazil. The new operators have a defense and offensive role respectively.
Operation Skull Rain will introduce a new map, although details are slim. What we do know is that it will take place in the Brazilian favela and will be Rainbow Six’s most destructible map. The map will be made available, free of charge, to all Rainbow Six Siege players.
As stated earlier, the new expansion includes a ton of requested updates and features. Some updates include a new ‘surrender system’ for ranked matchmaking. With a majority vote, teams can agree to surrender their match before the third round, allowing for an easier exit when playing a losing game.
A new game mode will also be made available with Operation Skull Rain called Tactical Realism. According to Ubisoft, this game mode has developed by “popular request,” allowing for a more difficult challenge. In the game mode, players will be forced to utilize team communication as features like kill confirmations and the ability to mark enemies have been removed. Realistic magazine management will be put into play as well, meaning players will lose ammo if they reload with ammo left in the clip.
Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Skull Rain is scheduled to launch on August 2nd, 2016. Those who own the Rainbow Six Siege Season Pass will be among the first to gain access to the two new operators on August 2nd.
Rainbow Six Siege is available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
