Yes, you read that right. Titles previously exclusive to other platforms, or unavailable for Xbox One are making their way to the platform. Rainway, a company that focuses on game streaming technology, have created a way to play PC games anytime and anywhere. Does that include PlayStation exclusives that got a PC release? You bet it does.
Rainway announced that they’ll be releasing the Rainway open beta for Xbox One. It’s available free of charge for Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X consoles, and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. This is exclusively for Xbox Beta testers for the moment, but will no doubt launch to all Xbox users in the future. Previously PC or PlayStation exclusive titles such as Nioh, Journey, Beyond Two Souls, Shenmue 3, Detroit: Become Human and more will be playable on the Xbox One for the first time.
“Rainway for Xbox gives players the freedom to enjoy the high-quality graphics of a PC game from the comfort of their couch on the big screen. Our games-first UI offers users their own personal ‘Netflix for games’ right in their living room,” – Andrew Sampson, CEO of Rainway.
There are plans for Rainway’s Xbox Beta to include 4K streaming, local multiplayer, voice chat and more. No time scale has been given for any of these features to be implemented, but it’ll no doubt depend on the feedback from Xbox Beta users.
If you’re looking at getting started with the Rainway app for Xbox, you can go to the Microsoft Store and download Rainway for Xbox today. It’s important to note that the Rainway Dashboard requires Windows 10 to operate.
