HRX, the Hi-Rez Studios presented annual event has kicked off today. It is being hosted at Dreamhack Atlanta and is the stage for both the SMITE and Paladins World Championships. 8 Teams in each game competing for the title with over $1 million and $300 thousand in prize pools, respectively.
The event started off with Hi-Rez presents, where each of the studios under Hi-Rez’s umbrella showcased their plans for 2019. There were announcements for SMITE and Paladins, and we also got to see HLDryBear drop some news for Realm Royale, the company’s class-based Battle Royale game.
With a sole focus on Realm Royale, Herioc Leap games is one of Hi-Rez’s newest studios. As of right now the game is in a closed beta on Xbox One, and will be heading to PS4 soon. Crossplay compatibility will be enabled during closed beta, so you can play with your friends whether they be on Xbox One, PS4, or PC.
As an added bonus to attendees of HRX, Realm Royale is hosting a Founder’s Tournament where duo teams can participate all day Friday and Saturday. The top two teams from each match will go on to the 5-round Grand Finals on Sunday, November 18th. The team with the lowest score of each round will earn $1000 to split, and the team with the lowest score at the end will earn $20000 to split.
