Red Dead Online has slowly been doling out online content since its release into the wild last year. Over the last few weeks the game has offered Legendary Bounties for the players to find, as well as new Online Showdown modes like the Sport of Kings and Head for the Hills. This is on top of the usual quality-of-life updates, patches and new equipment one would expect from a game looking for longevity.
Now Rockstar is also getting in on the Halloween spirit with their new update for Red Dead Online. This addition includes a limited-time release for a new Online Showdown mode entitled Fear of the Dark, where the players (Hunters) are up against supernatural creatures (The Night Stalkers) that are stronger and faster than they are.
Fortunately, there are skull masks that act as conduits for that power, and the players must collect these– in turn, the Night Stalkers will grow weaker and the players’ weapons will become more powerful. To win, the players must collect all of the masks and eliminate all enemies. If the time limit runs out or the Hunters are eliminated, then the Night Stalkers will be victorious.
This mode will only last until November 12th, 2019, so if it sounds interesting, you may want to check it out while you can. To help reinforce your curiosity, Rockstar are also offering 3X Gold and 2X RDO$ until November 3rd, 2019. So giddyup!
That’s not all! There are also a wealth of items being added to the Red Dead Online online with the update. Players will also be able to purchase things like the Manstilla Poncho, a Tobacco Hat and Sierra Boots. There is a Legendary Bounty (Tobin Winfield) and more bonuses like 30% off all Cleavers, Machetes, Tomahawks and Throwing Knives. You can check out the entirety of the update at the Rockstar website here.
