I know all you “binge-gamers” have finished Red Dead Redemption 2 at least twice since its release a month ago. I’m not judging, in fact I’m on your side, here! Rockstar Games announced today that the Read Dead Online Beta is set to release tomorrow for Ultimate Edition owners, and intermittently throughout the week for other users with it being available this Friday, November 30th for all players.
The release schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, November 27th: All Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition owners. – Disposable income has its benefits!
Wednesday, November 28th: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th, according to Rockstar’s data. – A reward for all you eager beavers!
Thursday, November 29th: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between October 26th to October 29th, according to Rockstar’s data. – You were excited about the game, but also had things to do.
Friday, November 30th: All players who own Red Dead Redemption 2. – Come one, come all!
This is not meant to be a demo, but a beta looking to address bugs and other issues. The staggered roll out is “To help us ease into the beta and to mitigate major issues“. The community will be responsible for reporting any bugs found, so that Rockstar can have as smooth a full launch as possible.
“With the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as its foundation, Red Dead Online transforms the vast and deeply detailed landscapes, cities, towns and habitats of Red Dead Redemption 2 into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players. Create and customize your character, tailor your abilities to suit your play style and head out into a new frontier full of things to experience.”
Rockstar is no stranger to providing an online experience, with Grand Theft Auto V Online having been released back in 2013 and still having a large following to this day. And much like in GTA V , I am excited to see what kind of role play servers come out of this deal. Time to invent me an ol’ timey bandit type Lance!
