Reggie started his career with Nintendo in 2003, during the era of the Nintendo Gamecube and Game Boy Advance. In 2006, he was promoted to the president of Nintendo of America, where he remained in position for thirteen years, helping ship many of Nintendo’s platforms, including the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch. He has been involved with numerous company projects, and helped contribute to the success of the gaming empire.
Doug Bowser, Vice President of Sales, will be taking Reggie’s place upon his departure. The internet has already rejoiced in the irony that Bowser now holds the keys to Nintendo’s castle, referencing Mario’s age-old foe. Doug brings years of experience as an executive of Electronic Arts, as well as sales leadership in several regions with Proctor & Gamble.
Many executives from other companies took to Social Media to address the news, with all them showing their gratitude for what Reggie Fils-Aime has done for the industry.
All the best to Reggie Fils-Aime on the next phase of his life and career. Great leader, industry partner and friend.
