A listing from Amazon Canada may have spoiled an upcoming announcement from Ubisoft.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 2018 was spotted on Amazon.ca, where the retailer posted the game prematurely. Since its discovery (courtesy of Eggplante), the retailer took the listing down. There was no information on the game page besides the title, but we suspect the game to be made available for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 later this Fall.
The Splinter Cell series made its appearance on nearly every platform since the original release in 2002 for the Xbox and Playstation 2. It’s most recent release, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was released in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, receiving decent reception from gaming press, scoring an 82 on Metacritic at the time of this writing.
If the rumor checks out, we may see an announcement from Ubisoft in the coming weeks. It is possible that Ubisoft will wait until this year’s E3 to announce the title, presumably during their press conference which has still to be announced.
