Well, it seems as if this year a lot of publishers and developers are finally realizing that Steam is a superior platform for PC gaming, with even EA bringing their formerly Origin exclusive titles to Steam.
This news, however, was even a surprise for me, because never would I have imagined that Jagex, the developer of the hit MMORPG RuneScape would be bringing it to the Valve owned platform.
In RuneScape, you will journey into the Sixth Age of Gielinor and discover a fantasy world deep with legend and lore. Gielinor’s people may be thriving, but the Elder Gods still scheme. The clouds are darkening and war looms.
It’s up to you. Will you explore the world with friends, or seek your fame and fortune as a lone adventurer? Whether you’re engaged in daring quests, quietly tending to your farm, risking it all against a high-level boss or spending a night at the circus, RuneScape is the perfect second-screen game. Play how you want – the choice is yours.
When playing on Steam, you can collect 20 new achievements, 15 trading cards, 6 emoticons, 6 badges and 3 player profile backgrounds. If you’ve played before, you can link your existing account with Steam to carry over all your progress and items, or if not, you can very easily start a brand new account to take with you wherever you go.
RuneScape is a fantastic free-to-play adventure, but if you want to experience everything Gielinor has to offer, Jagex offers three forms of paid membership. This gets you access to hundreds of new quests, new skills like Archaeology, Thieving and Slayer, and a vastly expanded game world.
