Saints Row IV had quite the single-player story; as a newly elected President of the U.S, you had to defend the country against alien invaders. You gained superhero-like powers in order to help accomplish the task, essentially making the city your character’s playground.
While games like Grand Theft Auto manage to do this as well, you can only leap to the roof of a skyscraper with cheats– in Saints Row it’s just another ability. This provided a wide range of fun and opportunity in the game’s world.
The Nintendo Switch is about to gain some insanity, because Saints Row IV: Re-Elected was announced for Nintendo’s latest console. You can start your run as the President in March 2020. The Nintendo Switch release trailer is below.
Originally released in 2013, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected was developed by Volition, and received good reviews. The Nintendo Switch version will include all pieces of DLC, including the two story additions: Enter the Dominatrix, and How the Saints Saved Christmas, and will put you back $40.
If you ever wanted to fly the skies as the President, this is your time. It’s a port, so while there won’t be much added to the game, there will be co-op and a new weapon customization system. Does Grand Theft Auto seem too serious for you? Did you enjoy the powers of Prototype but found the story and environment too dour? Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is probably the game you are looking for.
Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is releasing for the Nintendo Switch on March 27th, 2020. It formerly released on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, then PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015.
