The story-based card fighting game, Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle, is launching on Nintendo Switch in Europe and North America this summer. Publisher XSEED Games released a brand new trailer, which teases its original story and deluxe battle animations available in the Nintendo Switch release.
Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle is the story-based reimagining of developer Cygames’ hit strategic multiplayer game on PC and mobile, Shadowverse. Based on the anime adaptation of Shadowverse, players will team up with series protagonist Hiro Ryugasaki as they discover the Shadowverse card game and plan to win the national championship.
Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle brings the deep deck-building mechanics of Shadowverse to a new platform, and delivers a new narrative for fans and newcomers alike. Players can choose from 7 different classes and are able to collect new cards to build powerful decks, with which they can test complex strategies against opponents.
Throughout the player’s adventures they will be able to explore unique locations around Tensei Academy and the surrounding town, where unexpected events and encounters await.
The game can be played solo, or you can head online for multiplayer matches. In multiplayer, you can try out different decks against other players. It will also feature a Battle Pass system with cosmetic leader skin rewards and other in-game bonuses unlockable by completing missions such as winning online matches.
Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle will be available digitally and at retail in summer 2021. All versions come with a special promo code granting 2 alternate art cards (3 cards each), 10 seer’s globes, and cosmetic items redeemable in Shadowverse on the PC and mobile version.
