With how tough things can be in this day and age sometimes we all just like to sit back, relax, and wrangle goo creatures for money. Okay, I may have lost some of you on that last bit, but hear me out. Skybound Games and Monomi Park have released Slime Rancher: Deluxe Edition for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Released back in August of 2017 on Steam and Xbox One, Slime Rancher has the player take on the role of Beatrix LeBeau. She heads out a thousand light years from Earth to pursue a career in “Slime Ranching”, and that is basically all you need to know. Collect adorable goo monsters, raise crops, and explore colourful landscapes. Sound relaxing? See, I know you’d come back around.
Slime Rancher: Deluxe Edition is a physical box that will be stocked at major retailers and at Skybound’s own website. Included in the package are the full game and content updates, complete with Secret Style Pack and Fashion Playset DLC packs. There is also the Slimepedia booklet, which if you haven’t guessed, is an encyclopedia for Slime ranching. Lastly, digital copies of both parts 1 and 2 of the Original Soundtracks are nestling into your ear holes.
Admittedly, this is not the first physical copy of the game to hit markets. Skybound Games and Monomi Park partnered back in 2018 to release physical editions. Furthermore, I know lots of people are starting to grow tired of “Deluxe editions” and are just hoping for new IPs. In a time like now, however, a little trip back into a comfy game packaged all neat and tidy for you isn’t the worst thing in the world. Developers have to work from home too, you know.
That being said, this is the internet, and people DO love to complain. The majority of comments for the trailer revolve around Season 5 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series the Skybound had a hand in. Which, if you’re curious, isn’t happening! So move on with your life, and maybe just chill with some pudding monsters on your ranch. Pudding monsters sounds gross, I apologize.
Slime Rancher: Deluxe Edition is available now for $34.99 on Xbox One and Playstation 4. For more reviews and gaming news you can keep up to date at Informed Pixel.
