The unconventional hunter Danzaburou joins SMITE in the Legendary Tanuki update, which also happens to be the final SMITE update of 2020. Its been quite a successful year for SMITE and this is no small claim. 2020 also happens to be the 7th year since SMITE was released and Titan Forge have made it the best year yet.
Throughout 2020 we’ve seen 12 content updates, 5 new Gods, 7 events and 6 Battle Passes. There’s also been a wealth of crossovers. The Avatar x SMITE crossover was greeted with high praise and reached thirty thousand concurrent Steam players upon release, which was a historical high for the game.
SMITE fans were also treated to the limited-time Adventure modes and a variety of updated maps. All of this has led to a record-setting year, and is a rewarding result for Hi-Rez Studios and their community-driven vision. SMITE’s newest character – Danzaburou also joins the already plentiful roster of characters.
The cute looking critter but cunning crook, this bake-danuki once worshipped in Japan comes with abilities as diversified as his assets. He passively increases his gold gains, and he can throw money bags at enemies or taunt them with irresistible saké bottles.
His shapeshifting powers allow him to slip furtively through enemy lines, or to become a spectacular explosive rocket.
To celebrate this new character release, a cool animation was released. In the above comedic video, we can see Danzaburou making a deal for his Sake. A deal that is very one sided in the end. It’s a perfect animation to show quite how cunning Danzaburou can be.
