SEGA has officially revealed the Collector’s Edition for Sonic Mania.
Releasing next year, the Sonic Mania Collector’s Edition includes a variety of goodies for long-time Sonic the Hedgehog fans. The main attraction of the box is the 12″ Classic Sonic Statue standing on a mini-replica SEGA Genesis. Although the console doesn’t function, it does feature a power switch which triggers the classic “SEGGGGAAAA” startup audio.
Other goodies include a SEGA cartridge cast w/ golden ring and a metallic collector’s card which has the download code for the game written on the back. This confirms the Collector’s Edition will not include a physical copy of the game, meaning an internet connection is required.
Sonic Mania releases in 2017 for the Xbox One and Playstation 4.
