Sonic Mania is missing its Spring release window and has been delayed until the Summer.
The delay was announced during their panel at SXSW, where a representative from SEGA announced the news.
“For SEGA, quality is most important. We stated this last year, and we are committed to doing whatever it takes to make Sonic games the highest quality possible. Though we like to go fast, sometimes, for a great game, you must also wait.”
That said, they couldn’t leave the gaming community without good news for their long awaited title, so the company announced that Flying Battery Zone from the Sonic & Knuckles game would be making an appearance in Sonic Mania. Gameplay of the level can be seen below.
Sonic Mania releases for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Summer.
