♫A grill is a grill, this is surely so, and fries should be fries either way! But this remake is not a home! This is not the game I know, without youuuu!♫ Okay, sorry, I couldn’t help myself. What I’m trying to say is the people at THQ Nordic have some remake information for you. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated multiplayer has been revealed. Check it out.
The multiplayer mode itself is a horde style survivor co-op. Co-op survivor style horde mode? I’m not sure which one sounds right. You play with another human and survive waves of enemies! You can play the mode either online or split-screen. Don’t do that one if you don’t live with the person. Social distancing, people. Robo Squidward, who was originally cut from the original game, makes an appearance as a boss fight as well. The multiplayer contains 26 islands and 7 playable characters.
The campaign update of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated looks pretty straight-forward. Graphical updates, high-end resolutions, probably some control and gameplay polishes. You know, the usual stuff. You can play as the titular SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, or Sandra “Sandy” Cheeks. Yes, I know everybody just calls her Sandy, but if I have an opportunity to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson someone, I’m going to.
If you haven’t played the original, then look forward to a cult classic platformer where you try to stop Plankton’s army of evil robots from invading Bikini Bottom. All because he accidentally set his Duplicatotron 3000 to “Don’t Obey”. Fun, right?
