Good news surfaced today for Xbox One owners, when Xbox Head Phil Spencer confirmed on Twitter that EA’s upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront will be available early for Xbox Live users subscribed to EA’s EA Access service.

For those not in the know, EA Access is a paid subscription plan exclusive to the Xbox One, allowing early access to EA’s titles for $4.99 a month or $29.99 per year. While the service is only available on Xbox, it’s not a matter of console favoritism on EA’s part. EA offered Sony the same deal for the Playstation 4, but Sony declined, feeling that it did not offer a good enough value for Playstation owners.
It is unknown when EA plans to make the game available to EA Access subscribers, but Star Wars: Battlefront launches for the general public November 17th, 2015. Xbox One users can expect their special early launch shortly before that.
