Today, EA released information detailing the upcoming downloadable content for Stars Wars Battlefront. All covered under the $50 Season Pass, four DLC packs, each one including a variety of maps and heroes. While details on the latter are sparse, thanks to EA’s announcement today, we can now get a pretty good picture of what the game’s future looks like.
The first of the four DLC packs is reportedly titled “Outer Rim”, and it boasts at least two new maps, allowing you to “fight among the factories of Sullust”, and even in Jabba the Hutt’s iconic palace from Return of the Jedi.
The details on the other three DLC packs are vague at best though. The second is due for release in the second quarter of 2016, and is set to have at least one map taking place in Cloud City, and the third is (fittingly) due for the third quarter of the year, with maps taking place on the Death Star itself.
As for the fourth DLC, the contents remain a mystery. Besides the loose release window of “early 2017”, EA has chosen to reveal nothing about the final pack of game content covered by the season pass.
Besides paid content though, the coming months are set to contain more than one free content update for all players, including new player costumes, two new maps (including one set on the desert planet of Tatooine), and several new game modes.
