The collector’s edition for State of Decay 2 was announced today but there is one major problem with it. It doesn’t include the game.
For $69.99 USD, the State of Decay 2 Collector’s Edition includes everything but the kitchen sink, with the kitchen sink equating to the base game. What it does include is a latex zombie mask, a Severed Thumb 4GB USB Drive, an ‘exclusive’ Iron-on patch, and a steelbook case with steelbook stand that resembles a brain.
The game itself goes for $29.99 USD on the Windows Store, making the overall cost roughly $100 after all is said and purchased. Alternatively, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will earn the game, free of charge, on launch day for as long as they own the subscription, so for those unwilling to shell out the $30 it is to enjoy the game, it might be worth purchasing a subscription to try the game out.
We believe it is a strange move for Microsoft to not include a copy of the game, considering the appeal of a ‘Collector’s Edition’. What are your feelings on Collector’s Editions that don’t include the game? Be sure to sound off in the comments below!
State of Decay 2 releases on May 22nd, 2018, for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
