Construction has begun for the Super Nintendo World Theme Park by Universal Studios Japan.
The news comes from Famitsu who covered the ceremony for the park earlier today. There were various representatives present, from Universal Parks & Resort to Nintendo’s own Shigeru Miyamoto, where the group announced the construction of the theme park is officially underway. To help celebrate the news, a new video was released to advertise Super Nintendo World.
While there is still a lot we don’t know about the theme park’s attractions, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto did confirm that a Mario Kart ride is in development for the park. More news about the specific attractions will be announced at a later date.
The Super Nintendo World Theme Park is scheduled to open in 2020, before the start of the 2020 Toyko Olympics.
