The Crew 2, the latest installment in Ubisoft’s revolutionary open-world driving franchise, finally has a release date. Ubisoft has announced that the game with hit Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC on June 29, 2018.
The franchise aims to evolve beyond a traditional racing experience by focusing more on other areas of motorsports. Players will be able to collect and control a wide range of cars, bikes, boats and planes.
“Developed by Ubisoft Ivory Tower, a studio based in Lyon, France, The Crew 2 will let players experience the thrill of the American motorsports spirit inside a fully redesigned USA,” Ubisoft said in a press release. “The game’s playground pushes physical boundaries to let driving and open world fans test their skills, solo or with friends, in nonstop competition and exploration.”
Players will explore a redesigned USA and participate in a series of challenges including: street racing, off-road, pro racing and freestyle. The Crew 2 is a direct sequel to Ubisoft’s The Crew. Although it was met with mixed reviews, The Crew was widely praised for its vast world—allowing players to explore drive coast-to-coast in the USA—and RPG elements.
Ubisoft also unveiled The Crew 2 Motor Edition, giving players access to the game three days early to gain a competitive edge. The Motor Edition also includes The Crew 2 Gold Edition, a season pass to unlock new content, the Motorsports Deluxe Pack, a customized American The Crew 2 license plate, an exclusive Steelbook, a Roadmap and four original stickers.
Those who opt to pre-order the game will receive The Crew 2 Legendary Motors Pack, which includes an exclusive set of vehicles.
Players can start collecting cars immediately in The Crew 2 by completing monthly challenges in The Crew. Players who complete all challenges can unlock up to 19 vehicles, including exclusive water vehicles.
