Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work your way up the ranks of a crime organisation? Do you have a penchant for cigars, fedoras and tommy-guns? Well, if you missed out on the Mafia games the first time around, you have another chance to become a made man with the Mafia: Trilogy, capisce?
The newly announced Mafia: Trilogy was shown off by 2K Games. The games will allow players to “live the life of a gangster across three distinct eras of organised crime”. Included in the trilogy are Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, and Mafia III: Definitive Edition.
The first in the series “is a complete overhaul of the original game” and “improves on the beloved classic in every way imaginable”. Mafia II: Definitive Edition is a remastered version of the 2010 game with improved visuals and audio. Being much more recent, the third one will not endure any changes. All three of them will come with all DLC and other bonus items.
However, its not quite as simple as that. Mafia II and Mafia III are both available today, while the updated original won’t release until August 28th, 2020. If you previously purchased Mafia II on Steam, you will be upgraded at no extra cost.
Also, if you purchased Mafia III on PlayStation 4, Steam, or Xbox One, you will get the same upgrade– free of charge. If you don’t mind digital downloads, you can buy the Mafia: Trilogy today, but you’ll only have access to the latter two, and then the original Mafia in August. There are also some pre-order bonuses, which you can check out here along with all other information.
While it may be past Valentine’s Day, you can still partake in some power-struggles on your journey to become a made man in the Mafia: Trilogy. The Mafia: Trilogy is available now digitally on PC (Steam currently, Epic store later), Playstation 4, and Xbox One. There are plans to release it on Stadia in the future. It will be available physically on August 28th, 2020 for the same consoles that support physical media.
