Indie game publisher PLAYISM have announced that TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity is now available on Steam Early Access. Developer //Commentout bring this indie roguelike to Steam Early Access on the back of the successful demo in the Steam Game Festival in October.
This game features cute, vintage graphics. However, be prepared for ever changing gameplay with a steep learning curve. Typical of the game’s roguelike genre, this has made indie games in that genre so popular and addictive.
Additionally, with the successful platform built from the Steam Game Festival, watch out for future release on other devices such as the Nintendo Switch. This has been implied, with a release date undecided according to the //Commentout website.
This unique 2D action game has the player traverse The Tower of Perpetuity, a mystical tower that changes its form every 24 hours introducing a new challenge. Following a popular trend amongst games in the genre, the challenges remain fresh by changing on a daily basis.
What sets TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity apart is the unique social interaction as your progress. You actually leave behind a gravestone upon death. This gravestone can include a “relic” and “last words” for other players to come across, adding depth with this interaction with other players.
TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity releases to PC through Steam Early Access November 7th, 2020 for the low price of £7.19. Release dates for other platforms have yet to be announced.
