A remastered version of Warcraft III, including The Frozen Throne expansion, is releasing at some point next year.
Titled Warcraft III: Reforged, the game is a recreation of the original game released in 2002. It will ship with remastered 4K visuals and improved textures, all rebuilt from the ground up. Blizzard promises that the game will be re-balanced and make use of their modern matchmaking system, complete with the same custom-game lobbies that ushered in the original Defense of the Ancients (DOTA).

A special edition of the game, titled “Spoils of War Edition” is also seeing a release, unlocking a variety of rewards in other titles. Included are four additional heroes for Heroes of the Storm, a Meat Wagon mount for World of Warcraft, the Third War Card Back for Hearthstone, and other unannounced content for games like Diablo III and Starcraft II.
Warcraft III: Reforged arrives on PC in 2019.
