If you’re an Xbox gamer who just happens to enjoy games such as Skyrim, Fallout, DOOM and more; there’s a good chance your mind is melting with excitement. It has been announced that Microsoft have indeed acquired ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, with an estimated purchase of 7.5 BILLION dollars.
This is a big deal, as some of the most accomplished game studios including; Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks and more will be joining the Xbox family! They are responsible for massive franchises such as; The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM, Rage, Prey, Dishonored, Wolfenstein and many more. All of these games and more will be joining Team Xbox, expanding its game library and giving players more options to play them than ever before.
Bethesda’s Games on Xbox
Xbox will be adding many of these iconic & critically acclaimed games to Xbox Game Pass on console as well as PC sometime in the near future, including the upcoming Starfield & The Elder Scrolls 6. As far as console exclusivity goes for future Bethesda games, Phil Spencer said that games will appear on non-Xbox consoles on a “case by case basis”. Luckily, Microsoft and Bethesda share a similar visions for making their games reach more players in the most ways possible.
