Microsoft is releasing the Xbox Game Pass, allowing gamers to take advantage of a growing library of video games for just $9.99/month.
Those who are in the Xbox Insider Program can try this feature starting later today, while the program is set to launch this Spring. The Xbox Game Pass will allow unlimited access to a vast selection of Xbox One titles including Halo 5: Guardians, Mad Max, Mega Man Legacy Collection, and SoulCaliber II, which are free to play for as long as you own the subscription. This means you can earn achievements and play the game in its entirety for as long as it is included in the Game Pass program.
Every month, new titles will be added in and taken out, to allow for a steady stream of content being delivered to subscribers. Microsoft is touting over 100 games will become available when the program launches this Spring, but are limiting it to around 20 titles for the Xbox Insider Program test.
One concern the Xbox Game Pass may bring up is the significant impact it would have on data-restrictive connections as select titles can surpass 50GB in download size. Hopefully, Microsoft will take this into account when deciding which games would take part in the program.
