Playtonic Games has just released a trailer for the upcoming title Yooka-Laylee.
This is the first time we have seen new footage of the game since last year, where the game was still in a pre-alpha state. Based on the trailer (Which you can view after the break), you can tell that Playtonic Games put in a lot of time and effort over the last year to deliver a quality product.
Yooka-Laylee looks very reminiscent of the classic Banjo-Kazooie titles, what with it’s unique charm and character personalities. Playtonic Games even pokes fun at Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, which received lots of negative criticism since it’s launch in 2008. This can be shown by the comment that the bat, Laylee, makes near the end. “Pfft, you can’t trust this lot… It’ll will probably have car sections by then.”
Originally scheduled to launch this October, Playtonic Games have added that the game has been pushed to Q1 2017 to add additional ‘polish’ to the game.
Playtonic Games says in a blog post: “While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally projected in our Kickstarter, the Playtonic team has decided that it would prefer to add a few extra months’ polish to the game schedule.”
Yooka-Laylee is scheduled to launch later this year for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Wii U and PC via the Steam Marketplace.
