Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 joins the MK 11 roster, with a thumbs up and a smile, no less! Sporting the more grizzled looking version from the upcoming film “Terminator: Dark Fate”, players will get to fulfill their childhood dreams of laying a beat down on their friends, cyborg style. Except for those who weren’t alive then or who haven’t seen the original series of films, but let’s not talk about them.
A trailer was released yesterday by Netherrealm Studios showcasing the T-800 brawling against Jax, bear hugging Kano, and even having the living tissue of the cybernetic organism burned off by Scorpion.
Admittedly it is just Arnie’s likeness being brought into the game, with the character being voiced by somebody else who still manages to do a pretty solid job recreating the cadences of the former Governator, and will become available on Oct. 8th as part of the early access period for “Kombat Pack” owners, complete with alternate T-800 skins, and new skins for Cassie Cage, Sonya Blade, Kano, and Johnny Cage.
The Terminator’s arsenal is pretty basic to start with. Shotgun in hand, close range powerful punches, a running big boot, all the staples necessary for inflicting cybernetic pain. He does, however, also possess the ability for point-to-point teleportation to close gaps or escape, and also has a couple other fun pieces of future tech to give a little bit of extra flare to combat (kombat?). Check out the trailer for the character below but be warned, you will end up seeing somebody’s downstairs get exploded via boot.
Told you. Exploded downstairs. The gore doesn’t even get close to ending there! His fatal blow has the T-800 popping the enemy in the face with a shotgun blast while giving a combo of the iconic thumbs up with a smile before borrowing Scorpion’s “Get over here!” and smashing the oppositions face-parts into the ground. I’ll let you watch the fatality for yourself, but I can’t stop myself from giving you one spoiler. Time. Travel.
The character’s style appears to be pretty close range, and was showcased in further detail during today’s Kombat Kast, alongside the skin variants that will be available. A battle-damaged version, and a young terminator. His second loadout they showcased is more focused on grabs and throws and includes a move called the “I’ll be back-breaker”, and I don’t know that a move name has ever made me as happy.
If you want to gift some cybernetic pain of your own, the T-800 will be available early access on Oct. 8th as part of the “Kombat Pack” season pass. He is expected to be released for those who don’t at a later date.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available on Playstation 4, Xbox one, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
