One of Microsoft’s great exclusives, Fable Legends, has officially been cancelled.
The studio’s future is also in jeopardy as Microsoft announced that they are in talk’s with the employee’s at Lionhead Studios regarding the future of the company. Hanno Lemke, General Manager at Microsoft Europe made the following statement regarding the news, “After much consideration we have decided to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK. Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville.”
Fable Legends, announced at Gamescom 2013, was originally scheduled to launch for Windows 10 and Xbox One later this year. The news of the cancellation is disappointing, as the game was scheduled to launch in open beta within the next couple of months, meaning development of Fable Legends must have been quite far.
