The Street Fighter V beta is coming! If you have pre-ordered the game in North America, the beta will be available on July 23rd.
There will be four playable characters initially; Ryu, Chun Li, Nash and M. Bison will all be available to play at launch with Cammie and Birdie coming later to test the online delivery system.
With that being said, there is no local multiplayer available for this beta. Online multiplayer is the only available option. This will be a good time for capcom to test their systems and make any necessary changes to the frame work. Its also worth noting that this beta is only guaranteed to be available if you have pre-ordered the game before July 20th in North America, so now is a very good time to get in on the action before its too late. European users can only sign up for it following this link: https://psnbeta.eu.playstation.com/userInfo.php?enroll=SFV
So far, our understanding of Street Fighter V’s mechanics are limited so this may prove to be an opportune time for newcomers to get their teeth sunk in to the series early with a sneak peak at the game and its potential. Of course, nothing is final with a game like Street Fighter. Balance patches and Arcade Edition Re-releases are brought out frequently enough to keep the roster relatively diverse and competitively viable, so it will be interesting to see how the game evolves with updates and the new mechanics demonstrated at E3.
Street Fighter V will be available for the Playstation 4 and PC. Earlier this year, we reported that Street fighter V, in any iteration, would not ship on Xbox One.
