The much-anticipated Battlefield 1 gets a special open beta today, meaning that anyone with a Playstation 4, Xbox One, or PC can download and play the latest installment in DICE’s popular first-person shooter series.
Players will be able to test out the brand new Sinai Desert map, complete with loads of vehicles, weapons, and horseback riding, a first for the series. In addition, the beta supports up to 64 players on the map, allowing for huge, epic battles.
You won’t need to have PS+ to play the open beta on the Playstation 4, but the Xbox One variety will require Xbox Live gold. As for the PC version, that can simply be downloaded through EA’s Origin client, and played with no addition subscriptions or fees required.
Battlefield 1 will release this October 21st.
