Xbox One and Windows 10 PC users can start playing the Halo Wars 2 Open Beta today.
The beta will run from today, January 20th, up until January 30th. Unlike the game’s first beta, that launched during E3 2016; this beta will revolve around Halo Wars 2‘s new game mode, Blitz, which is a unique twist on the typical RTS formula we are used to by adding cards to power up your armies.
The development team released a brief gameplay video of the beta’s in-game tutorial. The video shows players how to utilize the new cards featured in Halo Wars 2‘s Blitz mode, as featured in the open beta released today. You can catch the video after the break.
None of the progress earned throughout the open beta will be transferred over to the full game when it releases next month, although, there are unlockables that are earned through playing. By logging into the Halo Wars 2 Open Beta over the next ten days, players will net themselves a card pack for use in the full game. A second card pack is available to those who complete their first match in Blitz mode.
Halo Wars 2 launches exclusively for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on February 21st, 2017.
