Blizzard has finally unveiled D. Va as a playable hero to the Heroes of the Storm community through a brand-new gameplay trailer. D. Va’s addition to the MOBA is part of a four-week celebration of Overwatch in Heroes of the Storm 2.0, an update that introduced Genji as a playable character, Hanamura as a Overwatch-style map and several gameplay mechanics from Overwatch.
Based on the trailer below, D. Va looks like she’s going to be one of the more technically difficult Heroes in the roster, but when mastered, it seems like she’s going to be pretty powerful. Like her Overwatch counterpart, Heroes’ D. Va has two forms: mech mode and pilot mode.
Mech mode looks a lot like a Tank/Bruiser type, which would make her great alongside some of the other Overwatch characters in Heroes, such as Lucio or Genji. But in Pilot mode, it looks like D. Va is going to play more like an Assassin. Finding that balance is what will make or break a D. Va player.
Check out all of D. Va’s abilities, strengths and weaknesses in her official trailer below. D. Va is currently available to play on the Heroes of the Storm Public Test Realm, and is expected to join the rest of the Nexus in the next update.
