Warner Bros. has pulled the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight from Steam and retailers due to “performance issues” with no forecast on when it might be back on sale. The publisher has publicly apologized about the game being ‘broken’ and promises a fix to address the wide range of performance issues players have experienced. Those who have purchased the game can request a refund from Steam or the retailer they purchased it from.
Batman: Arkham Knight’s removal from sale follows players reporting stuttering, drastic variable frame rates and the game crashing altogether on the Steam Community and Reddit Forums. Even users with impressive PC builds sporting high-end Nvidia graphics cards, like the GTX 980 Ti, were unable to run the game at steady 60 FPS while some AMD users were reporting very unimpressive single digit frame rates. In response to the reports, Warner Bros. acknowledged the performance issues and reiterated the recommended settings and hardware setups. They have also stated that players should NOT remove the underwhelming 30 FPS cap within the .ini file as this may cause further performance issues.
