Blizzard has announced an exciting new incentive to Heroes of the Storm newcomers and veterans with the arrival of the highly anticipated Heroes of the Storm 2.0: 20 free Heroes.
The offer comes to Heroes players who log in after the patch drops next week. Gamers will receive 100 Gems, a brand new currency arriving with the patch, to buy what Blizzard is calling a “Mega Bundle.” The Mega Bundles include packs for “flex” players, Tanks and Bruisers, Supports and Specialists and Assassins.
The incentive lasts until May 22, so as long as gamers log in before then, they’ll be granted access to the 100 gems. A full breakdown of what to be expected can be found on the Heroes of the Storm website.
Hardcore players might not have the best deal with this program, but it does offer players an opportunity to try a new style of play while minimizing risk. Newcomers — or those who haven’t logged in for a while — have the best deal, as it seems Blizzard is balancing the packs with a blend of old and new Heroes available in the game.
If you’re new to MOBAs, check out the website for a quiz and Blizzard will help you find the right bundle for your anticipated play style.
Heroes of the Storm 2.0 is a significant change to the overall Heroes experience, as it adds a lot of new features — such as Overwatch-style Loot Chests — and regular gameplay changes.
The gameplay changes range from mechanical changes to “fun changes,” such as emojis. For a full breakdown of what’s in store for Heroes of the Storm, check out the video below.
Heroes of the Storm 2.0 launches for free on April 25.
