Microsoft has revealed that the last day to get a free copy of Windows 10 will be on July 29th, 2016.
Currently, users who own a valid licensed copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8 are eligible to upgrade to Windows 10, absolutely free of charge. Downloading it before then will net you a free copy of Windows 10, for as long as you own your computer. Those who upgrade after July 29th, 2016 will be forced to pay $119.99 for Windows 10 Home either at retail or through online marketplaces.
“The free upgrade offer to Windows 10 was a first for Microsoft, helping people upgrade faster than ever before. And time is running out. The free upgrade offer will end on July 29 and we want to make sure you don’t miss out. After July 29th, you’ll be able to continue to get Windows 10 on a new device, or purchase a full version of Windows 10 Home for $119.”
Microsoft then announced that Windows 10 has been downloaded nearly 300 Million times – making Windows 10 one of the most successful operating systems to date.
