Bethesda has announced that the latest game in the long-running Doom franchise will be having an open beta run of its multiplayer modes. Starting at 12 AM EST on April 15th and running until 11:59 PM on April 17th, anyone on a PS4, Xbox One, or PC will be able to download and play the Deathmatch and  Warpath modes on two maps: Heatwave and Infernal.
In addition, Bethesda has discussed their DLC model for the upcoming game. Free content updates will come periodically to the game for the rest of the year, a now-standard practice for the genre, and three paid DLC packs will be released alongside these updates, each containing a variety of new game content, including maps and weapons.
The first DLC pack has been outlined as containing…
- Three new maps
- One new playable demon
- One new weapon
- New armor and equipment
- New hack modules
- New taunts and customization options
Each DLC pack will cost $14.99 USD, with a season pass that encompasses all three available for $39.99, letting you save five dollars. DOOM launches for good on May 19th.
