The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. Halo Infinite made its highly anticipated appearance during the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase at E3 2021! 343 Industries showed off both the campaign and the Free-To-Play multiplayer in great detail, but we’re going to focus on the multiplayer here!
Halo Infinite‘s Free-To-Play multiplayer is built upon the iconic sandbox driven gameplay the franchise is known for! For new players & old, the game looks to fit the best of both worlds and create a Halo experience like none before it!
The multiplayer will be reintroducing Halo 3-esque limited use equipment, such as the grapple-shot or drop wall, which will create unique opportunities for epic plays! New additions such as the Threat Sensor, Repulser and more were shown off as well!
Additionally, 343 showed off brand new & returning weapons and vehicles in epic ways! Classic vehicles such as the chopper and banshee make a hard-hitting return, while the razorback drifts in with slick movement! A few new unnamed weapons are shown off in action and look to fit the sandbox perfectly!
The Biggest Halo Multiplayer Ever
Halo Infinite will feature the wholly revamped, long-awaited return of Big Team Battle! BTB will host 24 player matches on increasingly large games, with many vehicles & weapons scattered through the maps! Additionally, the new Training Mode will allow players to practice against bots, which players can also add to custom games!
One of the essential elements of Halo has been the customisation of the player’s unique Spartan! Infinite will host different seasons, events, and challenges that will often contain new customisable items, all of which can be earned through gameplay. Lootboxes will thankfully not be making a return.
As previously revealed, Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer will be Free-To-Play on day one, but that’s not all! With Xbox Game Studios‘ recent focus on bridging the gap between Xbox and PC, Halo Infinite will cross-platform between the two!
Split-screen will also be making a highly-anticipated return to consoles, with LAN via local PC being added as well! The Xbox Series X will support 4k 120FPS, meanwhile, the PC will feature configurable settings across graphics and frame-rate.
