Microsoft’s Halo Wars 2 will receive two physical PC releases, launching alongside the digital version on February 21st, 2017.
THQ Nordic is partnering with Microsoft to publish two different editions of Halo Wars 2: The base game and the Ultimate edition. The Ultimate version of Halo Wars 2 includes the base game in digital form, the game’s Season Pass, and a copy of Halo Wars Definitive Edition. Purchasing the Ultimate Edition will grant gamers access to the game a full four days before it’s official release.
Studio Head of 343 Industries, Dan Ayoub states: “For fans who love to own the box, we’re excited to partner with THQ Nordic and bring Halo Wars 2 to physical release on Windows 10. THQ Nordic has been great to work with and we look forward to the game’s release on Feb. 21, 2017.”
Both physical copies of the game include the download token for Halo Wars 2 via the Windows Store. In addition to the PC version, consumers will gain access to the Xbox One version of the game, free of charge, thanks to the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.
