Nvidia’s new flagship card, the GeForce GTX 1080 TI, was announced during the company’s GDC 2017 live stream.
This monster of a card features 3584 CUDA Cores, 11GB of GDDR5X VRAM, and a 1.6 GHz Boost, with up to 2 GHz when overclocking. This is an improvement from last year’s GTX 1080, which released with 2560 CUDA Cores, 8GB of GDDR5X VRAM, with a boost clock of 1.7 GHz. Yikes.
What is more impressive is that the GTX 1080 Ti is said to outperform last year’s Titan X GPU, currently priced at $1200 USD. With the 1080 Ti releasing and nearly half the cost of the GTX Titan, we expect consumers to be shelling out the cash to include Nvidia’s latest in their new enthusiast gaming computer.
Gamers on a budget can still pay out for the GTX 1080 GPU, which is the current standard for running games like Gears of War 4, For Honor, and Halo Wars 2 at max settings. Nvidia also announced that the price of the base model GTX 1080 would take a $100 price drop, down to $499 USD.
The GeForce GTX 1080 TI launches next week.
