The brand new update for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has been fully revealed and is named Operation “Para Bellum”. The new map is set around an Italian villa, providing beautiful scenery as teams fight it out in Year 3, Season 2 of Rainbow Six Siege.
Ubisoft has revealed that the update would be one of the largest content updates in Rainbow Six Siege‘s history. Bringing a new map, operators, gadgets, and other small and important fixes to the overall experience. One of the most noticeable changes is the new pick and ban setting, granting players a way to further engage with the multiplayer and add an extra layer of strategy between teams. It creates a situation in which each side tries to counter their opponents picks during the banning phase.
The two brand new operators follow the Italian theme of this update and are directly linked into the map. The story behind the map follows a dangerous crime family that is known for smuggling. They use their house as a retreat, in which they lead a fancy lifestyle and collect rare items. Players arrive at this Villa during the time that Vinciguerra are burning documents and transporting their holdings. Unfortunately for the player, they got wind of Operation Para Bellum and fled, leaving everything in a mess with vital information ready for the taking.
The brand new operators, Alibi and Maestro, have their own unique skills and backgrounds, both of which fitting into the the lore of the map. Alibi is an undercover infiltration specialist, who has a history of infiltrating dense organised crime networks. She also has a deployable Hologram, which makes it difficult for enemies to identify her due to the incredible realism of this projection. Maestro has a history participating in joint operations in Iraq, which also earned him his facial scar. He has a remote access turret which is bulletproof, can see through smoke, and can fire low powered laser beams. Both operators are part of the Italian Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (G.I.S.) unit.
Various other updates include deployable bullet proof cameras, a new counter defuser animation, dropshotting adjustments, weapon sight misalignment adjustments, new observation tool management, operator speed adjustments, a buff for Echo and a buff for the Clubhouse map. All of these updates are sure to have a more in depth breakdown closer to the time of release.
A test server for Operation Para Bellum is scheduled to go live tomorrow, May 22nd, 2018, to PC. The final release of Operation Para Bellum is due June 2018.
