Microsoft has released some new information regarding when support will drop for Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 (or 8.1) and Windows 10.
While these operating systems will still work past the support dates, Microsoft will no longer be providing updates meaning your computer can be open to malicious attacks. The support dates for each operating system, including Windows 10, are as follows:
Windows Vista – April 11th, 2017
Windows 7 – January 12th, 2020
Windows 8 – January 10th, 2023
Windows 10 – October 14th, 2025
Remember, Windows 10 hits retail shelves on July 29th and if you are currently operation under Windows 7 or 8.1, you qualify for a free home version of Windows 10.
