Super Combat Fighter, a brand new retro-inspired fighting game, has just hit Kickstarter.
Critical Depth Games is attempting to bring Super Combat Fighter to market through its Kickstarter campaign. The company has already reached an astounding 14% of it’s funding goal. Super Combat Fighter is a parody of the 90’s fighting titles. Think of Mortal Kombat.
The main difference is Super Combat Fighter’s digitized actors, complete with celebrity guest fighters to contribute to the fun and wacky style of the game. It features a soundtrack composed by Andrew Hulshult, who had a hand in designing the music for other games such as Quake Champions and Brutal Doom.
Super Combat Fighter brings the kind of appeal and gameplay that classic fighting game fans will know and love, with all the over the top fighting and blood we’ve come to expect from games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. A choice of seven characters and ten interactive stages are available in either single-player against AI, or locally through head-to-head matches. Adding to the content, there are a bunch of match modifiers, cheat codes, unlockables, easter eggs and combos to discover whilst playing – ensuring your matches stay fresh and exciting.
A range of game modes is available in Super Combat Fighter, such as the giant battles, which increase the size of the fighters by a great deal. More modes are planned for the game but have yet to be revealed as the game is still in early development. Super Combat Fighter is releasing for Kickstarter backers in 2019, with a release planned for PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch pending campaign goals.
