Nintendo has announced the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition; a re-release of Nintendo’s first home console.
Out of the box, the NES Classic Edition will include an AC Adapter, an HDMI Cable, and an NES Classic Controller. The NES controller will be compatible with the NES Classic Edition, but fans may also choose to connect it to any Wii Remote Controller – making it possible to enjoy Virtual Console games via the Nintendo Wii or Nintendo Wii U. The NES Classic Controller will be sold separately for $9.99 USD.
The NES Classic Edition will support HDMI connectivity, making it capable of connecting to most displays, something not possible on the Nintendo Entertainment System without third-party connectors.
While the system won’t support official NES cartridges, the console will come pre-bundled with 30 games. The games which will be included are Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Galaga, Ghosts’N Goblins, Gradius, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Kirby’s Adventure, Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden, Pac-Man, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, StarTropics, Super C, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tecmo Bowl, The Legend of Zelda, and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition and NES Classic Controller will be released on November 11th, 2016.
