Nintendo has revealed that a massive update will come to Splatoon on August 5th, 2015.
First, the level cap in Splatoon will raise by %150, bringing the level cap up to 50 from level 20, making it possible for players to earn more gear and rewards.
Secondly, 40 new pieces of gear will also be available ranging from new guns to clothing. Among the new gear, comes the introduction of two new weapon types: ‘bucket-like Slosher’ weapons and ‘Gatling-style Splatling’ weapons as seen in the trailer posted below.
Lastly, two new matchmaking modes also arrive in this update: Private Battle & Squad battle. Both of these modes will enable players to invite up to three other friends to participate in online play, making your online experience with friends much greater. Private Battle on the other hand will enable players to create private lobbys in where only their friends can participate; making the game enjoyable if you only want to play with a particular group.
All of this will be coming to Splatoon on August 5th, 2015 for FREE with Nintendo promising that “this massive August update is not the end of the splat-acular free content coming to Splatoon. Following this update, more content will continually roll out through the rest of the summer and fall, including the Rainmaker Ranked Battle mode, additional maps and new weapons.”
