With Super Mario Maker coming out in about a month, the world is excited to see what amazing and sadistic levels people will create. With this, Nintendo has announced that they will be implementing a difficulty indicator on every level.
This indicator is determined by how many attempts a level has had versus how many times it’s been completed. So for example, if a level has had 250 attempts and only 35 completions, you will see a “challenging” or “hard” difficulty.
This isn’t the only way that levels will be ranked for difficulty however. Engadget reported:
“User-created levels are also vetted by Nintendo moderators to determine level difficulty before it’s available for anyone to download.”
This is probably put in place to get rid of any levels that are impossible to complete and completely confirm the difficulty label’s validity. Hopefully this doesn’t introduce a major delay in uploading a level to it becoming globally public.
Super Mario Maker will release on September 11th in North America later this year.
