Nintendo’s newest mobile title, Super Mario Run, releases on December 15th, for North America.
Once released, players will be free to download the game, free of charge from Apple’s App Store. Upon downloading, players will have the opportunity to try “elements” of the three game modes. Alternatively, fans can choose to spend $13.99 CAD ($9.99 USD) on Super Mario Run, to enjoy unlimited access to all three game modes.
“The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time.”
Super Mario Run will become Nintendo’s second release on mobile platforms, with their first being Miitomo released earlier this year. While Miitomo was published for both iOS and Android, Super Mario Run was announced to remain exclusive to iOS platforms until 2017.
Super Mario Run arrives for the iPhone and iPad on December 15th, 2016.
